“This theatre is doing more than punching above its weight, it has adopted a striking new profile.” – The Stage
Harrogate Theatre is our home in the heart of Harrogate, on Oxford Street. A beautiful 125-year-old Victorian venue hosting our flagship events including our Comedy Festival, and award-winning pantomime.
Harrogate Theatre contains two purpose-built performance spaces. The main auditorium is a striking venue with a seating capacity of 500 set across three floors. We also have a smaller flexible studio theatre with an audience capacity of up to 60. But we’re not just based at Harrogate Theatre, we programme events across the town.
Our VenuesWe also run a vibrant creative engagement programme which works with children and young people through our popular Youth Theatre, in-school workshops and projects and on community performances. In addition, Harrogate Theatre is also home to several community groups that perform high-quality musicals and plays throughout the year.
Creative EngagementWe encourage and support the development of new work and have a brilliant Associate Programme that nurtures emerging talent and connects them to the wider industry.
