Running a marathon for Comic Relief

We all make mistakes.
This month, Jamie (our Business Development Manager) decided that he could run a marathon on a treadmill to raise funds for Comic Relief. No training, no preparation, just get a treadmill...run a marathon.

So the team were a bit sceptical, but encouraging. We found a treadmill, and on the day, Jamie came in, prepared to run. We (and he) had no idea how inspiring the day would turn out to be!

Jamie set off running at 9.30am, and the first few miles went well! He took the task at a steady pace, talking to the residents and visitors who came along and helped to cheer him on. As the day progressed, he was starting to flag a bit, and that's when the rest of the team stepped up!

Ten other members of staff all chipped in to give Jamie a rest and do their bit for the distance we needed to cover in the day. It was an amazing day of team work and team building, and the residents that live at the Cuttings thoroughly enjoyed watching the increasing amounts of pain Jamie and the team experienced!

As the day went on, the miles went by, and we were sure that we could finish by 4.30... and we did just that! at 4.30, Jamie was jubilant and crossed the virtual finish line, completing the 26.2 mile run on a treadmill! Phew! I'm out of breath just typing this!

Well done Jamie and everyone else that took part in this marathon challenge!!
