Overview
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional food experiences for our residents and guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents, oversee food preparation and service, and manage kitchen operations in a dynamic hospitality environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity, leadership, and a strong commitment to food safety and quality.
To assist in all aspects of the delivery of a high standard quality catering service, which is efficient and professional; and to ensure that the whole department complies with statutory regulations in accordance with Health & Safety, Environmental Health, and Hygiene requirements.
To ensure that the home’s ethos and principles of Privacy, Dignity, Choice, Rights, Independence, and Fulfilment are adhered to and respected.
Duties
· Preparation and production of all meals in line with the planned menu and assisting with the residents’ requirements where possible in line with any medical or dietary needs.
· Working with the other chefs and Director of Service Development in the production and planning of an innovative menu style, to promote a flexible approach and to residents and to develop the Hospitality service in general.
· Maintaining professional standards regarding food preparation and to be actively involved with Hospitality requirements for Festivals and Special Occasions and outside catering functions.
· Co-operate and liaise with staff to provide a food service to the home which fulfils the needs of all customers.
· Ensuring that all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times.
· To maintain effective communication both within the Hospitality department and other disciplines.
· To supervise and be supportive to staff to promote a harmonious working environment.
2. Cleaning and Record Keeping
· Ensuring that the kitchen, servery, and equipment is kept to a high standard of cleanliness by all Hospitality staff and to work in line with the daily and weekly cleaning schedules in place within the department and maintain updated records.
· Ensuring that daily and weekly record charts for temperature for fridges, freezers and deliveries are maintained and records updated.
3. General
· Working within different departments or locations within the organisation as may be necessary to ensure the needs of the service are met.
· Ensuring all staff and volunteers working within the Hospitality department are aware of their responsibility in the prevention and control of infection, food hygiene and fire safety.
· Working closely with other staff and maintain effect team working.
· To appreciate the need for clear, precise, and open communication between all staff.
· Adhering to the various routines which are in place and be flexible where necessary.
