Key Responsibilities
As our Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day excellence of our care home. Your daily responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership & Development: Motivating, supporting, and supervising care staff, conducting appraisals, and helping team members achieve their career qualifications.

Exceptional Care Delivery: Assisting in direct, hands-on resident care and ensuring holistic, individualised, and dignity-first care plans are followed.

Operational Management: Supporting the creation of efficient staff rotas to meet resident needs 24/7, managing resources economically, and ensuring high standards of catering, hospitality, and safety throughout the home.

Quality & Compliance: Partnering with the Head of Care Services to implement policies, ensure compliance with care regulations, and maintain accurate, secure resident records in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
About You (Person Specification)
We are looking for someone who combines strong professional expertise with a warm, people-first heart.
Essential Criteria:

Qualifications: A relevant Diploma in Adult Care (Level 3 or 4, or equivalent).

Experience: Proven experience in the care of older adults, with a track record of supporting a team.

Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.

Values: A deep commitment to equality, diversity, and treating every resident with the utmost dignity and respect.

Flexibility: Ability to work a shift rota system with internal rotation to support our 24-hour care setting.
Desirable Criteria:

A management qualification (or working towards one).

A registered Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent).
