Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team in Boroughbridge. Based in our local community, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of elderly residents by delivering personalised care and support. Main Purpose of Role

To assist the management team in all aspects of the delivery of quality care to residents, ensuring that care, services, and operational arrangements are maintained in line with all procedures, standards, requirements, and legislation.

To ensure that the principles of privacy, dignity, choice, rights, independence, and fulfilment are always applied.

Job Dimensions

Direct resident care under supervision from a member of the management team, delivering individual care, assessing, and evaluating care needs as required by residents.

Duties & Key Responsibilities

The main duties are as follows:

1. Care

  • To provide individualised personal care to residents, in respect of activities of daily living and in line with care plans and maintain high standards of care practices.
  • To provide emotional support and company to residents and encourage residents to be as independent as possible.
  • To develop skills and knowledge in care practices and to maintain high standards of personal care.
  • To encourage and assist residents’ occupation in social care activities, hobbies, and interests.
  • To be involved in resident care planning.
  • To act as Key Worker for a number of “named” residents, providing a close and attentive relationship in respect of all aspects of care & emotional needs.
  • To be welcoming and supportive to residents, relatives, and visitors, and help achieve morale for residents, visitors, and staff.
  • To liaise with relatives and where directed by senior staff, other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • To escalate any concerns in respect of resident care to the senior person on duty, and to be aware of the complaint’s procedure.
  • To undertake escort and chaperone duties as appropriate and as directed by senior staff.

General

  • To assist in the routine of other support services, i.e., housekeeping, laundry, and catering, as delegated and as required.
  • To work closely with other staff and maintain effective teamwork.
  • To appreciate the need for clear, precise & open communication between all staff.
  • To adhere to the various routines which are in place and be flexible where necessary.
  • To be involved in new initiatives, supporting management with the implementation process.
  • To be involved in audits within the organisation as directed.
  • To appreciate that the good reputation of the organisation depends upon the attitudes and actions of all staff, both on and off duty, in private and in public.

Personal / Professional Development

  • To agree personal objectives and complete training as agreed during Appraisal or other management reviews.
  • To attend statutory training as required by the home and by legislation.
  • To attend other training events to update and extend knowledge and skills which impact care practices.
  • To maintain a record of training events attended.
  • To maintain a Competency / Supervision record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.28-£14.62 per hour
