The Cuttings
Built in 2018, The Cuttings represents a modern and forward thinking approach to elderly care. Designed with our residents comfort and care in mind, we wanted to help create a community, emphasising independence, wellbeing and trust within all those who live and work here.
The Cuttings is designed to have space for everyone to live as they please. Our 55 apartments are bright, inviting and homely, providing quiet, individual homes for our residents to live in and make their own. Easy accessible by wheelchairs, each apartment is just a few minutes away from the main social areas.
On the ground floor we have several event spaces, our day care centre rooms, a spa and salon, a large TV room and our fabulous restaurant 'The Dining Car'. In these spaces, residents can socialise and enjoy each others company, sit and read, enjoy great home cooked food, and much more.
Outside the main building are our communal gardens, well maintained and fully accessible for wheelchair users and other residents with mobility issues. The garden boasts seating areas, lawn space, a pond, a fruit and vegetable growing area, wildflower meadow, bee hives and even chickens (fresh eggs every morning!). It's a idyllic space to rest and enjoy the wonders of nature.

Our Apartments
Each of the apartments at the Cuttings is fully equipped and offers complete privacy, comfort and security.
With a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments and studio flats, the Cuttings is able to accommodate most care needs. You can move here alone or with a partner, safe in the knowledge that your apartment will very quickly become your home.
Every apartment is able to be decorated in a way that helps the resident feel at home and comfortable. There is enough space for your valued possessions, memories and even a visitor or two!
Spacious and light, with views onto the gardens or the front of the building, each apartment is a little haven of peace and tranquillity. All easily accessible via stairs or lift, the apartments feature wide corridors, high ceilings and enough space to live comfortably.
Each apartment is on one of three floors, which in turn lead to the communal areas. The Cuttings is a modern, purpose-built building with a thriving community where elderly people can feel safe and looked after without giving up their independence.
Facilities and Care options
The Cuttings has numerous facilities to keep our residents engaged.
Our restaurant 'The Dining Car' is open from 8.00am until 6.00pm, where our catering team provide nutritious, well-balanced lunches and dinners seven days a week.
Lunch is served between 12.30 pm – 2.00 pm and evening meals are available between 4.30 pm – 6.00 pm. Snacks are also available from the bar, and there is always water on tap.
We have several rooms inside specifically for the residents to make use of, including a games room, a TV room, a spa and salon. Outside, our stunning gardens are open to all, with considerate planning and full access throughout, making them the perfect place to enjoy the bird song and sunshine!
Our clients also have access to an onsite team who provide care 24 hours a day. They can meet clients individual needs, including providing specialist care for those living with dementia.
If you are unable to continue supporting yourself in your own home but you’re not quite ready for full residential care, then The Cuttings provides that perfect balance.
Our amazing Community
At the Cuttings, All the residents are encouraged to get involved with the numerous activities we hold each week. Bingo, Music quizzes and Garden club populate the activities calendar, with special events, food evenings and more throughout the year.
We also have a community hub and a commercial kitchen to meet the growing demand for our hot food delivery service, through which we deliver up to 1,000 meals a week!
There is a constant demand for all our services and we work exceptionally hard to ensure that our standards never drop. As a not-for-profit organisation, we do not have huge financial reserves. So, we rely greatly on the generosity and support of the local community. You can help us continue making a difference by donating, volunteering or fundraising.

We have a Guest Suite at The Cuttings which can be booked by the family and friends of our clients.
Our Guest Suite is modern and fully equipped and provides everything you needs to make your visit with us a comfortable experience.
