Hours: Full Time
  5 days  0800-1600
Rate of Pay: £12.75 per hour

 

What you’ll be doing:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at The Cuttings for a confident, bubbly, and organised individual to run our Meals on Wheels service. The manager oversees the Meals on Wheels delivery service and will work closely with the Catering Department, as well as coordinating a team of Meals on Wheels Volunteers, to ensure the smooth running of the service for our elderly clients.

The manager is an integral part of our Meals On Wheels service as the first port of call for both Clients and Volunteers. A day in the life of a Meals On Wheels manager includes communicating meal requirements to the chefs, planning routes for volunteer drivers, inputting meal requirements into daily spreadsheets, handling new enquiries for new clients and volunteers, and overseeing volunteers who are delivering each day.

The Meals On Wheels manager plays a vital role in the recruitment of new Volunteers, as well as working with our office team in welcoming new Clients. The successful candidate will be part of an initiative to expand our outside catering service.

What we need you to bring to our community:

You should be a real people-person, with good administrative experience, and have experience what it means to provide great customer service.

It is crucial for the manager to be proactive and confident with problem-solving skills. You should be flexible in your approach and happy working in a high-pressure environment that is frequently adapting to changes as our organisation grows and the service expands.

What we are looking for:

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • Good organisational skills
  • At least 5 years of Administration Experience
  • Competent working with Microsoft Excel
  • Confident and polite telephone manner
  • Confident with correspondence (telephone, email, and letters)
  • Flexible in your approach
  • Calm and confident under pressure
  • Proactive attitude and approach
  • Problem-solving and forward thinking
  • MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good knowledge of group emails and working

Skills and Experience Desired:

  • Good understanding of GDPR
  • Understanding of DBS Checks – carrying out for our Volunteers
  • Basic marketing skills
  • Onboarding clients/volunteers
  • Working with vulnerable adults
